Kurdistan - PKK

Solidarity with the freedom fight of Kurdistan
Kurdistan: a region divided between four different countries (Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran) which has been continuously fighting for its auto-determination in all four countries, facing general repression by all of them.
The ISIS and the Syrian civil war were changing moments for the history of the Kurdish people and its international recognition. The help they have given to fight ISIS was acknowladged by the United States and the chaos caused by the Syrian war have given them the hope of finally creating a free state.
That feeling was strengthened by the Referendum hosted on the 25th September 2017 for the independence of the Iraqi Kurdistan. Even though the "Yes" has won with 92,73% it's independence hasn't been yet recognized by the Iraqi government and just by a couple of other countries.
Resisting is called Live
In 1991 the turkish government has officially banned the words "Kurds", "Kurdistan" or "Kurdish" and since 1983 that the turkish part of Kurdistan is living under martial law, mainly due to the action of the left-wing group PKK (Kurdistan's Workers Party), which is considered a terrorist organization by NATO.
With quite a big Kurdish community all over Germany,  Hamburg is no exception, hosting many kurdish political refugees which since the 70's have been fleeding from all the fours countries where their territory is divided.
