Between the 6th and the 8th of July 2017 Hamburg has lived in an almost state of civil war, with generalized chaos and with a neighbourhood (Sternschanze) being declared Police free for over twenty four hours.
Reason?
The G20 meeting held at Messehalle, right in the centre of the city.
As it often happens with such meetings, different groups of citizens have gathered to protest and it couldn't have been more diversed: from peaceful ride bikes to riot.
A few months before the meeting the streets started getting filled with the most diverse sort of publicity for protests as well as calling people's awareness to what was going to happen.
Now, almost a year after the events it is still possible to see several stickers and posters spread a bit all over the city, but specially at around the Sternschanze neighbourhood, famous for it's 1st of May demonstrations and for hosting a left-wing association: Rote Flora
